National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse

Uniting leading medical and public health groups to advance bipartisan policies to prevent and heal the harm of violence, so families can thrive.

Our Mission

Violence and abuse cause costly, lasting health harm. NHCVA brings together medical and public health organizations to support bipartisan policies that prevent and heal that harm.

Our Vision

We partner to create change that ensures all children, adults, and elders live in communities free from the pain, suffering, and fear that violence creates.

How We Support Policymakers

NHCVA is the only independent, nonpartisan medical and public health coalition dedicated to shaping federal policy on the health impact of violence and abuse. For 30+ years, we’ve educated policymakers to address child abuse, intimate partner violence, elder abuse, and other harm. Our members represent nearly one million health professionals. We work across the aisle to ensure bipartisan policymakers have the latest evidence they need to craft successful and effective violence prevention and intervention policies.

Our Value for Current and Prospective Members

We make it easier for medical and public health groups to engage in targeted and strategic federal advocacy related to the health impact of violence and abuse. Members can expect critical updates, timely opportunities to partner on policy work, and a collaborative community to support your impact and success.
